Movement # 41 – Separation Of The Left Foot Kick
This is basically he same movement as the previous one, but done
with the left foot. There is a transition between the two foot kicks that I
have given an application. The transition is similar to High Pat On Horse.
The opponent strikes my center with his
right hand. I neutralize it to the right and either push or strike with my left
palm. The same or different opponent strikes with the left hand. I neutralize
this to the left delivering a right palm slap, and follow with a left foot kick
to the lower mid-section.
Some of this movement is difficult to see, as my back is turned to the camera. If you study the previous movement and mirror it on the left side, you will understand what needs to be done.

John attacks my center with his right hand. I join and neutralize the strike with my right hand, leading it to the right. Following Right Foot Kick, step down the right heel half way between west and north. Be sure not to narrow your stance. The right arm drops to lower chest level with the palm facing the body. The left hand remains by the left side of the shoulder. Focus on
the right wrist for joining and the right foot for proper placement. |
|
|
Having
led the attack into nothingness, I attack back with a palm strike. Shift
the weight onto the right foot, turning the torso until the nose points to
the right knee. The right
hand ends up by the right side of the thigh with the palm facing downward. The
left palm extends outward to end on the left side of the center of the chest.
Keep the elbow drooped. This is
actually Right Brush Knee, as seen before.
Focus on
the right hand for neutralizing and the left palm for striking. |
|
|
This part of the movement now mirrors High Pat on Horse. As the attack comes at me, I neutralize it to the left. The left
palm starts to the left at the same level, about the center of the chest. The
right hand relaxes and starts to circle up. The body starts to retreat back
onto the left foot as the torso begins to turn to the left. Focus on
the back of the left wrist to join with opponent’s strike. |
|
|
I deliver a slap with the right palm. The weight
has shifted onto the left foot. At the end of the shift, the right toe pivots
on the heel to end with the toe facing west. The torso has turned to the left
and ends up facing slightly to the left of west. The left
hand has continued around to the left and extends almost straight out by the left
shoulder. The palm faces downward. The
right palm has circled up and ends up by the right side of the center of the
chest with the palm facing to the left. Focus on
the left palm for leading and the right palm for slapping. This part
of the movement is like High Pat on Horse. |

|
We now go into the mirror of the last kick. Here I stick with and circle down John’s right
arm. The weight
is shifted onto the right foot and the torso turns to the right to face west.
Sink the weight into the right Kua. The left
arm circles down and ends up in front of the crotch. The right hand withdraws
to end by the right side of the chest. I am now in center position. Focus on
the left arm for sticking and leading. |
|
|
The kick is delivered. The torso
turns to face halfway between west and south. The left thigh is raised and
the left foot is snapped out. As this happens, the two arms separate to the
sides of the shoulders. Palms face outwards. Do not lean back. Focus on
the left hand for deflecting and the left toe for kicking. |
