Movement #24 – Hit A Tiger At Right
This is another close in movement from the Long Form. The opponent strikes my temple with her saber pommel. As she attempts this, I step in, block with my right arm, and follow with a strike to her ribs with my saber pommel.

|
If I don’t
react Stephie would strike my right temple with her saber pommel. |
|
|
1) As she attempts her strike, I step in with my right foot and block her saber with my forearm. I could also strike her left temple with my fist. 2) I
strike her ribs with my pommel. |

|
Energy moves to the center. Relax
the weight deeper into the left leg and roll up the rear foot onto the toe. The two
arms start to drop down the front of the body. Focus on
the energy returning to the center. |

|
Stepping in and blocking. Step out
with the right foot, just touching down the heel without adding weight. The toe
faces slightly to the right of north. As you
step, the right hand makes a fist and makes a large counterclockwise arc from
the waist to the temple level. The back of the fist faces inward. Keep a
round shape with the elbow and shoulder relaxed. The saber
hand has dropped to waist level with the palm up. Focus on
the right forearm for blocking. |

Striking the opponent’s ribs with the pommel. Shift
the weight onto the right foot and turn the torso until the nose and knee
face the same direction as the toe. The right
arm remains in the same relative position. The left arm, holding the saber,
moves to the right. This is a strong movement as the whole body is behind the
strike with the pommel. Focus on
the pommel end of the saber. |
